Rogers Wireless and Research In Motion introduced the BlackBerry 8800 this week. The smartphone operates on Rogers’ high-speed EDGE, 3G technology-based network and incorporates built-in GPS as well as location-based software applications. This includes BlackBerry Maps, which provides on-screen driving directions via the GPS function and map generation from the device’s Address Book. It also offers the staple BlackBerry features including support for phone, e-mail, text and instant messaging; Web browser; organizer; multimedia; and corporate data.
