APCO, NENA announce ANS for PSAPs

The Washington, D.C.-based Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International and the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) released a candidate American National Standard (ANS) dubbed APCO/NENA ANS 1.102.1-200x: Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP)-Service Capability Criteria Rating Scale. The standard assesses PSAP capabilities against models that represent best practices for preparedness, survivability and sustainability during disasters. There is a 45-day public review and comment period that ends July 7. The standard can be downloaded here.
