Dulles, Va.-based Orbital Sciences Corp.’s Transportation Managements Systems division has been awarded its first contract to install a vehicle management system to track a large-scale fleet of school buses. The Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools in Nashville, Tenn., selected the company for a $9 million contract to install an integrated fleet-management system. The company will install an 800 MHz two-way voice communications radio system in all of the vehicles and use satellite-delivered positioning information to track them along prescheduled routes.
