DoD procures rugged computers

Haifa, Israel-based Elbit Systems’ U.S. subsidiary, Tallahassee Technologies, received a $14.4 million contract from the Department of Defense. The company will provide the department with RPDA-57, a ruggedized personal data assistant computer designed for real-time data access in combat environments, and the Tacter-31M, a hand-held or vehicle-mounted computer that meets MIL-STD 188-220 for dust and water resistance and supports simultaneous connectivity for two independent tactical radio networks, as well as local area networks.
