Alcatel-Lucent introduces Ethernet switches

Wireless powerhouse Alcatel-Lucent launched the OmniSwitch 6850L and 6850-U24X, two stackable Ethernet switch solutions for the enterprise market’s wireless communications. The 6850L model does not require additional hardware for gigabit Ethernet desktop connections, remains stackable with any other version, offers power choices including AC/DC or power-over-Ethernet and is available in 24- or 48- stackable layer2/layer 3 switching. The 6850-U24X offers 24 small form-factor ports and includes two 10/100/1000 combo ports, two XFP ports for 10-gigabit Ethernet links and two 10-gigabit stacking ports, according to the company.
