Boston Scientific’s Latitude Patient Management system is an FDA-approved product for wireless home monitoring of a patient’s heart condition, implanted device, blood pressure and weight. It uses a small piece of equipment called the Communicator to wirelessly collect data from a patient’s device; however, the data is not sent wirelessly to physicians. Instead, the Communicator sends data through a telephone line to a secure website that physicians can access with a password.
