FreeLinc acquires Aura Communications Technology

FreeLinc, a wireless-accessory communications provider serving the public-safety market, acquired Aura Communications Technology, a provider of near-field magnetic induction communications. Aura, a privately held company, has been developing near-field magnetic induction-based integrated circuits since 1995, according to FreeLinc. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
