Idaho government agencies turn to satellite

Chandler, Ariz.-based World Communications Center (WCC) recently received a contract from the State of Idaho to provide Iridium satellite voice and data services to several state government agencies. The contract was awarded via the Western States Contracting Alliance (WSCA), a purchasing cooperative that represents 15 states, including Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. Idaho is the first state to act under a blanket-purchasing contract awarded to the WCC by the WSCA in March, 2007.
