RF and RFID solutions provider Checkpoint Systems announced it has been involved in a series of UHF RFID technology trials supervised by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute, or ETSI, task group 34. The company assisted in the design work for the hardware solution and procurement, configuration and installation of 36 RFID-enabled dock door portals—used to simulate simultaneous operation of multiple loading dock doors using a four-channel synchronized approach under the ETSI 302 208 standard. Pallets containing 62 individually tagged cases were transported through 36 adjacent loading dock doors where 4.5 individual reads were recorded, according to Checkpoint.
