Symbol announces ruggedized access point

Symbol Technology launched the dual-radio, mesh-capable, AP-5181 ruggedized access point. The device can withstand wind, rain, lightning, extreme temperatures and power surges, according to the company. An optional heavy-weather mounting kit protects the access point from windblown debris at velocities of up to 130 miles per hour.
