Michigan county upgrades wireless network

CalAmp’s Dataradio operating unit landed a $1.3 million contract to replace Michigan’s Genesee County E-911 Consortium’s existing mobile-data, public-safety network for first responders. The company will provide its wireless communication-based G3 800 MHz IP platform that operates at 24 Kbps on each of the consortium’s national public-safety planning advisory committee changes. The technology will be used at 27 police department and 22 fire departments throughout the county, according to the company.
