Universities land award for RF technology research

The New York State Office of Science, Technology and Academic Research has awarded a $305,500, Center for Advanced Technology Development award to the Rochester Institute of Technology, Syracuse University and SUNY at Buffalo. The award supports research on a wearable, wireless, three-dimensional locator for fire, police and emergency responders using radio frequency technology. Spectracom will match a portion of the grant to support Syracuse University’s Computer Applications and Software Engineering Center.
