Robot now offers mapping kit

iRobot Corp. unveiled the PackBot robot with Mapping Kit, which integrates real-time mapping and wireless remote operational capabilities for warfighters. According to the company, the kit can relay a real-time two-dimensional structural map of the environment as the robot moves and then transmits such data back to its operator, while at the same time detecting and avoiding obstacles in its path and changing course to avoid imminent collisions.
