Mobile telemedicine incorporates satellite communications

Spacenet, a provider of wireless and hybrid terrestrial broadband services, yesterday announced that it was selected by Oklahoma State University’s Center for Health Sciences Telemedicine Center in Tulsa, Okla., to provide satellite network services for its new mobile telemedicine clinic. The center will use the company’s Cisco-enabled satellite network services, which include satellite services with auto-acquisition antenna technology and on-demand satellite services to support data communications and voice-over-IP systems.
