Newark, N.J., officials will deploy Mutualink’s public-safety communication system citywide to support interoperability among the city’s agencies—such as the police, fire and EMS departments—as well as schools, hospitals and transit services. According to the company, the system connects two-way radio systems, video and telephone systems. The city will begin deploying the system in March 2008. The initial phase of the system is scheduled for completion in Q2 2008.
