DHS picks R&D lab for video-security research

Nonprofit research lab Noblis received a $1.8 million contract from the Department of Homeland Security’s Office for Interoperability and Compatibility to conduct research and development on security and video-quality research. The lab’s research will generate a set of requirements that reflects the security needs, goals, priorities and technological opportunities of emergency responders, which includes the analysis of the current and possible future uses of video surveillance cameras and onboard video cameras in emergency response vehicles.
