Paterson, N.J. adopts ShotSpotter technology

Sep 25, 2007 11:40 AM

Mountain View, Calif.-based ShotSpotter announced that the city of Paterson, N.J., is merging the company’s gunshot-detection-and-location system with its wireless-surveillance network to assist public-safety agencies in criminal apprehension. ShotSpotter GLS sensors will begin being placed across areas of the city in locations that complement existing and expanding video-surveillance camera infrastructure. Integration of the two technologies is scheduled to be complete by year’s end and will enable cameras to move and focus on the source of gunfire, according to the company.
