Louisiana State Police invest $5 million in wireless broadband network

ERF Wireless, a provider of encrypted wireless networks for the banking industry, has entered into an agreement with the Louisiana State Police to construct a $5 million statewide, wireless broadband network. The network, dubbed the Louisiana BankNet network, will provide wireless broadband connectivity to the state police and regional banks currently serviced by the company. It also will provide wireless Internet coverage to what the company calls “underserved areas of Louisiana.”
