Qualcomm launches wireless initiative in Thailand

Qualcomm Inc. launched its Wireless Reach initiative in Koh Panyee and Ban Pakkoh, Phang Nga in southern Thailand. The company will donate telemedicine equipment for two public-health stations on the two islands, including illumination and imaging systems, dermascopes, general examination cameras, stethoscopes and digital spirometers. Desktop computers and wireless connectivity equipment also will be provided to a hospital in Phang Nga that will connect the public-health stations with the hospital to support real-time data transmission, according to the company.
