Apr 8, 2008 9:55 AM, - MRT

Research In Motion subsidiary Ascendent Systems and Sprint announced the deployment of Sprint’s Mobile Extension platform at the Lee County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office. Mobile Extension was integrated into the office’s existing telephone infrastructure; when a call comes in to a desk phone, it also simultaneously rings on the subscriber’s mobile devices. Other capabilities include real-time notification and voice conferencing. The county also equipped patrol cars with Sprint’s mobile broadband service that supports IP video telephony, push-to-talk service and multi-user video conferencing, according to Ascendent.
