Electric utility deploys Wireless Matrix solution

Reston, Va.-based Wireless Matrix Corp. announced that Idaho Power, a regulated electric utility based in Boise, Idaho, has purchased a SDM 5000 satellite data communicator, a fixed-site satellite unit that supports remote command and monitoring of site operations and conditions. The order includes 126 SDM 5000 and 166 T-MBS broadband wireless communicators to be deployed in Idaho Power’s service fleet for workforce and outage management, according to the company.
