Verizon Wireless posts improved quarterly numbers

Apr 22, 2003 12:00 PM

Thanks to a surge of new customers, Verizon Wireless boosted its quarterly numbers roughly 15 percent, according to a statement release by parent company Verizon Communications.

Verizon Wireless’s number improved in both the operating cash flow and revenue categories.

Verizon’s first-quarter operating cash flow climbed from $1.78 billion from $1.55 billion – due in part to lower churn and higher average monthly revenue per user.

With the addition of 833,000 customers, first-quarter total revenue shot to $5.09 billion from $4.43 billion a year ago.
