Panasonic unveils rugged, handheld computer

Panasonic Computer Solutions Co. unveiled the Toughbook CF-U1, a rugged handheld computer with a low-power Intel Atom processor. The computer features RFID readers and GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G mobile-broadband. It measures 7.2 inches wide by 5.9 inches deep by 2.2 inches high. It weighs 2.3 pounds, which both batteries. It costs $2,499.
