Astron antenna offers alternative for wireless telephone, data devices

Mar 5, 2004 12:00 PM

Astron Wireless Technologies has introduced a 3dBi omnidirectional dipole antenna to replace the standard “rubber ducky” or whip antenna on wireless telephone terminals or data devices. The PCD Series allows the subscriber to place the antenna in a remote location for better signal strength. Electrically, this antenna has a power handling capability of 10 watts. It is vertically polarized with an elevation pattern of 60 degrees and 360 degrees in azimuth. Locating this antenna away from the telephone or data device is easy, as the antenna comes with 13 feet of cable and assorted connector options, according to Ashtron.
