RELM Wireless net income doubles in first quarter

May 4, 2004 12:00 PM

RELM Wireless recently announced net income of $300,000 for first quarter 2004, nearly double the $400,000 net loss it incurred during the same quarter in 2003. The company’s sales increased by 1.4 million—39%--year over year, from $3.6 million in Q1 2003 to $5.0 million this year. The company attributed the revenue growth primarily to sales of its Project 25-compliant DPH portable radio, although its analog portable radios for commercial and industrial applications also fared well during the quarter. RELM has been profitable for four consecutive quarters, said President and CEO Dave Storey.
