SmarTrunk makes wireless features available to LMR operators

Mar 31, 2004 12:00 PM

SmarTrunk announced during IWCE 2004 that it would make available to LMR dealers and operators an expanded set of features that, on top of existing features, create a line-up that replicates the offerings available from wireless carriers such as Nextel. The features include Caller ID, late-to-join, voice encryption and automatic roaming registration. Existing features include voice mail, call forwarding, call transfer and voice logging. In addition, SmarTrunk unveiled the ST-100N multiplexer with remote telemetry, which is designed to link the company’s ST-853 controller to its ST-510 switch. The multiplexer enables several linking options--including leased lines, spread spectrum, microwave, T1/E1, and RF phone line extenders--and makes voice-over-IP linking possible, the company said.
