Thales adds wildland fire fighting software to radio
Jan 29, 2004 12:00 PM
Thales Communications has added its Fire Features software to its Thales 25 handheld public-safety radio. The software adds a “special event fire bank” containing three zones of 16 channels each, the option to clone radio global settings and password-protected zones. Firefighters using the radio can venture outside their normal operating system and program frequencies for use on that fire without disturbing the normal operating configuration, according to Thales. Another benefit, according to the company, is that the radio does not need to be reprogrammed for the local system once the user returns from the wildland fire.
