Vellox adds aerosol spray dish coating
Feb 17, 2006 12:04 PM
Vellox Coatings recently unveiled an aerosol-spray version of its hydrophobic satellite dish coating, which prevents rain sheeting, an occurrence that can interfere with the antenna’s ability to receive satellite signals. The spray causes the rain to bead and then fall away by separating the water drops from the dish surface by a thin layer of air, according to the company.
The aerosol-spray version was designed specifically for tower-maintenance professionals, said Donald Tully, owner of Vellox Coatings. “The bulk version was tough for maintenance guys—they had to carry the can and brushes up the tower,” Tully said. “Also, spraying the coating on is easier than applying it with a brush.” www.vellox.com
