Catalyst announces IP console

Catalyst Communications Technologies unveiled its IP console, a scalable, fault-tolerant architecture that runs on commercial, off-the-shelf hardware. The console offers several features for dispatchers, including Unit ID, a common alias database and emergency signaling. In addition, it also offers uni-directional and bi-directional patches so dispatchers can route audio to groups of radios that can hear traffic from other agencies but cannot interrupt communications on those channels, according to the company.
