Dual-mode mesh node

BelAir Networks announced the BelAir100M Mobile Mesh Node for 4.9 and 5.9 GHz wireless frequencies. The node provides broadband connectivity to vehicles traveling at speeds up to 150 mph (240 kilometers per hour). Offered in dual- and tri-radio options, it can be configured to support any combination of 4.9 GHz, 5.9 GHz, Wi-Fi and WiMAX radio frequencies, according to the company.

Wi-Fi enclosures

Belden launched a line of indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi enclosures for the company's XtraThin access points. The BWIE-100 is a 14- by 10- by 4-inch indoor enclosure constructed of UV-stabilized ABS resin, while the BWOE-100 is a 14- by 12- by 7-inch outdoor enclosure constructed of fiberglass-reinforced polyester with stainless steel latches and a power-over-Ethernet interface. The NEMA-rated and RoHS-compliant enclosures protect against tampering, theft and environmental damage.

Rugged tablet PC

Itronix unveiled the Duo-Touch II, a ruggedized tablet PC. It includes multiple integrated wireless technologies, including support for EDGE, GPRS, UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, EV-DO, 802.11 a/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS. It meets the military's standard for direct sunlight and costs $3595.

Power-over-Ethernet midspan

Phihong USA of Fremont, Calif., introduced the POE125U-4HP, a four-port Gigabit Power-over-Ethernet midspan for high-power applications. The device provides up to 36 W of power per port for powering wireless access points, IP cameras and security systems, and it can be rack-mounted, the company said. It costs $169.

GPS tracker

TeleNav added the TeleNav Asset Tracker to its Mobile Resource Management product line. The device is a battery-powered GPS tracker that can be placed on vehicles, trailers, tractors or heavy equipment to monitor their locations. Users can log into a password-protected Web site and view the exact position of all mobile assets, according to the company. The product also can be customized to send an alert as soon as an asset moves from its current location. The device costs $199.99 in addition to a $19.99 monthly fee for the tracking interface.
