London ambulances get TETRA radios

Emergency vehicles operated by London's NHS Ambulance Trusts will receive TETRA mobile radios supplied by Cambridge, England-based Sepura, according to the country's Department of Health. Sepura will supply about 18,000 radios in early 2007 that will be interoperable with police and fire radios, the Department of Health said. Sepura received a 13-year contract worth 390 million pounds ($763.5 million) in July 2005 to provide a new digital radio system.
