Radio vendor lands $7.8 million transit contract

Communications International announced that the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) has awarded the company a $7.8 million contract to install and test the agency's new 800 MHz EDACS radio system manufactured by M/A-COM. The system will link MBTA personnel and supervisors — including the agency's police officers and subway and bus operators — and provide interoperable voice and data communications, the vendor said.
