RELM dealer wins California deal

Feb 1, 2005 12:00 PM

RELM Wireless said its dealer Silverado Avionics has won a $5.4 million contract from the California Department of Forestry (CSF) to provide BK Radio-brand portable transceivers to the state agency.

RELM also said it has completed operational and validation testing of the cryptographic module for its RELM BK DPHx P25-compliant digital portable radio. The company said it has submitted the test results to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for official validation. RELM President and CEO Dave Storey said the radio's encryption capability is built into the radio's functionality and memory, rather than achieved via an add-on circuit board.
