Tropos in deal to deliver metro-scale Wi-Fi across Europe

Mesh network system developer Tropos Networks announced that it has entered into an agreement with hotspot provider The Cloud — which maintains about 6000 hotspot locations in the U.K., Sweden and Germany — to deploy metro-scale Wi-Fi networks in European cities. The deployments, scheduled to begin this year, will let service providers operating on The Cloud's network provide value-added services such as mobile Internet access, automated meter reading and remote wireless video monitoring, Tropos said.
