SmartLink Radio Networks said that Brunswick County, N.C., has deployed its I-Network interoperability platform that the county is using to interconnect dozens of public-safety agencies in its footprint. Prior to deploying the solution — which is set up to let users operate autonomously in routine situations but communicate interoperably as needed — 63 agencies were using about 40 different conventional UHF and VHF radio and paging systems, the company said. The system also supports pre-programmed interoperable communications with FEMA, state agencies and public-safety agencies in adjacent counties.
