BIO-key procures Hawaii County public-safety contract

Jan 29, 2008 1:14 PM, - MRT

BIO-key International was awarded a $344,000 contract from the Hawaii County Police Department to implement the initial rollout of its first mobile-data system using the company’s MobileCop software, a wireless messaging and query solution. Hawaii County police officers will have real-time access to local, state and federal databases on outstanding warrants and stolen vehicles through in-car laptops. Each vehicle also will also be equipped with the MobileCop Navigator software—a mapping solution that features Microsoft MapPoint and lets dispatchers determine the location of units closest to an incident, according to the company.
