South Carolina invests in wireless chemical detectors

RAE Systems announced that the state of South Carolina has purchased 300 GammaRAEII wireless hand-held radiation detectors and additional wireless-enabled MultiRAEPlus hand-held toxic gas monitors for deployment by the state’s first responders. The GammaRAEII detects gamma ray and radiation sources, is certified intrinsically safe and is water-submersible for chemical decontamination purposes. The MultiRAEPlus is a compact one-to-five gas monitor with a choice of two toxic-gas sensors, according to the company.
