Harris receives $33.5 million for digital tactical communications

Harris Corp. this week received a four-year, $33.5 million contract from ViaSat, Inc. The contract is for additional hardware used in Multifunctional Information Distribution System terminals that provide U.S. military forces with secure, jam-resistant digital tactical communications. The company will provide an enhanced voice card, power-supply assemblies, processor modules and the chassis for each of the terminals. The award brings the overall value of the contract to $140 million, according to the company.
