Glucose-sensing RFID microchip gets U.S. patent

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded Digital Angel a patent for its syringe-implantable, glucose-sensing passive RFID microchip. The microchip measure glucose concentration levels in diabetic patents and wirelessly transmits the data when scanned by a hand-held reader, according to the company.
