Apr 25, 2007 1:48 PM, - MRT

CalAmp Corp.’s Dataradio operating unit has been awarded a $1.6 million contract to replace the mobile data network used by St. Tammany Parish, La., law-enforcement personnel. The company will install its G3 700 MHz IP platform that operates at up to 128 kb/s for public-safety data communications over a private network. The platform lets dispatchers send drivers license and license plate information to officers in their patrol cars, as well as other data communications, according to the company. The network will initially support approximately 275 vehicles.
