RFID skin patches aid patient monitoring

Gentag and The CORE Institute will develop and market RFID skin patches for medical applications, the companies announced. The technology platform uses RFID-enabled cell phones, PDAs or wireless laptops that allow remote monitoring by physicians and hospitals, particularly during the first 24 hours post injury or surgery, according to the company.
