Aug 13, 2008 2:56 PM, - UC

Spacenet introduced its ION VSAT communications solution. The solution is a ruggedized satellite communication kit that enables a mobile deployment of converged communications via satellite. It is available in two form factors. The ION 2100 is designed for short-term communications and employs a push button auto-acquire satellite antenna that can be operational in less than 10 minutes, according to the company. The ION 1100 uses a manually deployed VSAT (very small aperture terminal) antenna system for semi-fixed locations. Wireless communication is supported by the company’s Connexstar turn-key voice, video and broadband data service, the company said.
