TeleCommunications Systems announced E911 patent

TeleCommunication Systems announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued patent number 7,340,241 for a “Public Safety Access Point (PSAP) Selection for E911 Wireless Callers in a GSM Type System.” The patent addresses techniques for routing wireless E911 calls to the nearest PSAP that is supported by the company’s Xypoint Location Platform, which offers location-based technologies that route E911 calls and location data to PSAPs, according to the company.
