Ambulance service receives in-vehicle mobile data

Emergency medical personnel employed by Greenwood, Colo.-based American Medical Response are receiving critical data in the field using a wireless gateway from In Motion Technology.
In Motion’s onBoard Mobile Gateway (OMG) 1000 lets EMTs communicate with hospital personnel by providing a wireless LAN extension over Cingular Wireless’ EDGE network; in addition, they can access medical applications stored on the OMG 1000’s 30 GB hard drive. The OMG 1000 also provides automatic vehicle location and in-car navigation capabilities, In Motion said.
