Intel unveils standards-based wireless LAN network connection

Intel has introduced the PRO/Wireless 2200BG network connection, which is a standards-based, Wi-Fi-certified wireless local area network solution that enables both 802.11b and rapid 802.11g wireless networking. The connection operates at speeds up to 54 MB/s and is designed to maintain higher throughput at higher ranges. Consisting of a communications and radio chip, the product is software-upgradeable to support future security and service enhancements, according to Intel.
