XACT introduces sleek two-way communicator

XACT Communications yesterday introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas a two-way FRS/GMRS handset that offers a four-mile range for voice communications. The “sleek and extremely thin” unit measures 4 x 2.5 x 0.5 inches and is outfitted with 38 sub-codes on each of its 22 channels, which provides greater privacy and offers more than 800 ways to secure a clear channel, said the company. The device interacts with all FRS/GMRS devices and will be available in the second quarter 2004, said the company.
