Tropos in deal to deliver metro-scale Wi-Fi across Europe

Mesh network system developer Tropos Networks announced that it has entered into an agreement with hot spot provider The Cloud—which maintains about 6000 hot spot locations in the U.K., Sweden and German—to deploy metro-scale Wi-Fi networks in European cities. The deployments, scheduled to begin this year, will let service providers operating on The Cloud’s network provide value-added services such as mobile Internet access, automated meter reading and remote wireless video monitoring, Tropos said.
