Marine Corps invests in portable satellite-communications suite

Satellite and wireless communications networks provider DataPath has been selected by the U.S. Marine Corps to provide an ultra-portable satellite communications solution for the Support Wide Area Network program. The solution includes satellite terminals that are small enough to be carried in suitcases or backpacks; portable kits that support voice-over-IP services; and technical support services that include training and field engineering. According to the company, the multi-year contract could total $30 million, which includes an initial delivery order worth $1 million.
