Energy company moves from private radio to national network

Akron, Ohio-based energy company FirstEnergy will use Sprint Nextel for voice services, specifically Direct Connect, as it moves from a private radio network to the Nextel National Network. The company’s personnel now will be able to carry one device for all voice and data communications.
