Globalstar introduces next-gen mobile satellite phone

Mobile satellite voice and data services provider Globalstar introduced the GSP-1700, its next-generation satellite telephone handset. The 7.1 oz. device operates on the Globalstar satellite network in more than 120 countries and six continents. It is being manufactured by Qualcomm and incorporates the company’s Mobile Station Model MSM6500 chipset solution for EV-DO networks.
